Nantucket Style

As featured in today's NY Times Home section....  Creative Director and designer of Hable Construction, Susan Hable, describes the inspiration behind their Hooked Rug collection for Garnet Hill --

“I’ve always loved buoys, the ones I’ve seen hanging on people’s houses in Nantucket or the antiques at Brimfield.  They’re sweet and colorful and fun. And hooked rugs are so 1970s — they’re our generation.”

Taking inspiration from Susan Hable, I've included some iconic imagery of what I love about Nantucket style.

My heart aches for interior designer Jeffrey Bilhuber's Rose Cottage, his Nantucket summer getaway.  His refined color palate of driftwood tones & chosen accessories influenced from natural materials, creates an idyllic setting to relax and enjoy the essence of island life.  Check out the Before & After photos from Architectural Digest's September 2003 issue.  Click here for more.
