Allegiance NYC Premiere 12/28
Allegiance (formerly titled Recalled, which I discussed here), is being released in NYC on Friday 12/28 and in LA Friday 1/4. This film is written & directed by our dear family friend Michael Connors (our families grew up together in CT), and my brother is one of the producers. The subject draws on Michael's army background (his father & sister are both West Point grads), experience (ROTC at Harvard), and his active military service, while also weaving an emotional & ethical component into the story-line. If you're not in the NYC or LA areas, Allegiance is currently available to watch through On Demand. The movie stars Aidan Quinn, Seth Gabel, and Shad Moss (also known as Bow Wow).... Trailer attached below.

Christmas at Callanwolde
Monday, December 17, 2012
I highly recommend a visit to Christmas at Callanwolde before it comes to a close tomorrow, 12/18.... We went on Saturday morning for a tour and what a treat! Each room of this historic Gothic-Tudor style home (built by the Candler Family, founders of Coca-Cola) is richly decorated with trees, furnishings, and holiday adornments everywhere you look. Favorite details included a deer peeking through a densely decorated tree (above) crafted by Mark Sunderland and vintage typewriters accenting a large wreath (below) crafted by David William D'Ambrosio of Redefined Home Boutique.

Lillie Magazine Launch
Friday, December 7, 2012
Super excited to share this scoop.... Lillie Magazine, a new print & online magazine that celebrates a "beautifully curated sustainable lifestyle", will launch on Monday, 12/10. Editor-in-Chief Letitia Elizabeth shares what readers should expect from this forward thinking publication....
"It’s about designing warm inviting homes, preparing wholesome meals for loved ones, growing your veggie patch, or making your own holiday gifts. It’s about shopping for a new dress that looks as good on you as it is good to the earth. Most importantly, Lillie is a new hybrid that starts conversations with women who have a conscience. They care about what goes onto their body, in their mouths, and around their home, but they never want to sacrifice personal style while doing so."
Watch the teaser trailer attached below for more insight into Lillie Magazine's style and featured content, plus check out their Facebook page & Twitter feed for additional updates and info.

Today's NY Times Styles section includes a in depth reveal into the ever evolving and trendsetting design firm of Roman & Williams. Husband & wife Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer, founded their business (named in honor of their maternal grandfathers) following a successful partnership of crafting set designs for various movies throughout the 1990s.
The Roman & Williams lengthy work portfolio spans a spectrum of design projects, residential (clients include Ben Stiller & Gwyneth Paltrow) to commercial (the Standard Hotel, the Dutch, and more), both stateside and abroad. In 2011, Architectural Digest named Roman & Williams to their list of Innovators, plus more recent news highlights the couple's custom line of bath fixtures & tile for Waterworks, and their first book, Roman & Williams Buildings and Interiors: Things We Made, published for the 10 year anniversary of establishing their interior design firm.
Included below are photos from their NYC loft home, which was on the market at one point last summer, furnishings included and priced at $3.5 million, followed by video of Alesch and Standefer in their studio discussing the backstory in developing their signature style.

The Bachelor Farmer - tables set for service in the private dining room
So, kind of really excited about seeing the eye catching selection of vintage Afghan blankets sourced as wall decor for the Minneapolis restaurant, The Bachelor Farmer. The restaurant is part of a mixed use dining/retail space in an turn of the century historic building named the Peer House. The interiors of The Bachelor Farmer and its various bar, dining, and hang out areas are featured in the November 2012 issue of Interior Design magazine.
I continue to seek out Afghan blankets while on my travels for vintage goods.... Not only am I in awe of the time and craftsmanship that goes into producing a blanket, but I particularly love the modern appeal of the bright colors paired with geometric designs.
