ATL Craigslist Collage #2

Thursday, January 31, 2013

There are some days when my chosen form of relaxation is to sit & scroll through Craigslist postings....  Recently, I've noticed some great pieces here & there, and in my eye when pulled together, act as my personal design "Mood Board"....  The above is my latest collection of home decor currently available that could furnish a space quite nicely.

LUNCH >>> The Little Tart Bakeshop

On Tuesday we stopped into The Little Tart Bakeshop for lunch....  We're already fans of just about every pastry & baked-good they make, but hadn't had the opportunity to try their freshly prepared lunch items -- 1 fresh sandwich and 1 fresh salad that changes daily.

We tried a sampling of goodies....  The Veggie Quiche, the Day's Fresh Salad, a Chocolate Croissant, and a couple of Salted Peanut Butter Cookies with Cocoa Nibs....  FYI -- You order at the counter and your dishes are brought to you at your selected table. Additionally, The Little Tart shares their space with Octane Coffee, which makes for a perfect partnership!

Dinner at No. 246

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Last night wasn't our first time dining at No. 246, but it did seem like a while since we had been back....  For a Monday night, the place was busy with patrons in various parts of the restaurant - outdoors & in!

Since our last visit, I thought that the menu had been streamlined a bit, offering a nice selection of smaller dishes - charcuterie, cheeses, and tapenade toasts, plus the right amount (3 or 4 choices) of starters, pasta, pizza, and entrees.

Warm crusty bread alongside olive oil with herbs & olives was served while we looked over the menu....  We ordered for the table a selection of sliced meats, cheeses, & toasts (1 with Arugula Almond Pesto & 1 with Squash & Ricotta Cheese)....  I ordered the Broccoli Soup for a starter and one of No. 246's Homemade Meatballs with a side of the Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Turnip and Swiss Chard & Garlic for my entree. For dessert, the Chocolate Spoom, topped with Grey Salt & Olive Oil was beyond decadent! Photos below....

Chocolate Spoom -- Italian meringue ice cream served in a waffle cone...  Much more richer and intense chocolate than you would expect!

Style Setting

In my previous post here, I mentioned noticing Hinkley Lighting seeking out the personal interiors of some of Atlanta's top designers for use as a background setting in advertising their light fixtures....  Spotted in the JAN/FEB '13 issue of Lonny magazine is Hinkley's full page ad, with the backdrop courtesy of interior designer Kay Douglass and her getaway home up on Lake Rabun....

Thea Beasley

The Marietta, GA loft of globe trotting artist and stylist Thea Beasley is featured in the February '13 issue of Country Living magazine.... I have previously posted about Thea here, highlighting the images that Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine shot of her home back in November 2010. The 3,500 square foot space is an ever evolving design canvas with additions & edits of home furnishings and accessories. I've included below paired images from both Country Living & Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles for a deeper look into Thea's signature style....  Over the past couple of years, the rooms seem to depart from creamy tones with dark accents to a more lighten color palette of grays & whites.
