Live from Daryl's House

Monday, December 20, 2010

I learned about Live from Daryl's House a couple of months ago on NPR.  Daryl Hall, 1/2 of the music group Hall & Oates, broadcasts monthly jam session webisodes, held at his Dutchess County, NY home.  The concept brings together Daryl Hall with legendary performers and emerging artists, to rework the musical libraries of both host & guest.  The casual home setting allows for an unrestrictive collaboration to evolve.  Daryl's residence, Flint Hill, is set on 130 acres with views of the Catskillls and the Litchfield Hills.  The main section of the home is comprised of (2) 18th century structures that were brought to the site and rebuilt with modern day materials, while retaining a 1780s aesthetic in both design and architecture.
