Head to the historic Cabbagetown neighborhood of Atlanta tomorrow, Saturday November 5, for the annual Chili Cookoff & Bluegrass Festival CHOMP & STOMP. This 1 day event spotlights handcrafted chili created by chefs from local restaurants & individual teams made up of home cooks. The admission price is $5 and that gets you your spoon, to be held onto to savor each tasting cup of chili picked up from the tents lined up & down the charming streets. Recipes range from vegetarian to a variety of meat based chili, with awards for best chili given out to both the professional & individual teams. Proceeds from the day benefit the care & maintenance of Cabbagetown's parks and community spaces. CHOMP & STOMP kicks off with a 5k run at 8:00am and officially opens at 11:00am (with live music, an artist market, local food vendors, & beer), but the chili is not served until 12:30pm. Parking is limited, so if you opt to arrive by bike, you can valet your bike at the corner of Wylie & Short streets, organized by Atlanta Bicycle Coalition. A word of advice....  the chili goes FAST, get there EARLY to be sure you don't miss out!!
