All My Favorites....

My fondness for decadent handcrafted treats (baked goods, chocolate, ice cream, etc...) continues to be fueled....

Kicking off with Mr. Ferguson making a stop into The Cookie Studio, located on the Decatur/Avondale Estates line. With all of our talk of baked goods from our visit to Back in the Day Bakery, we felt a sampling was in order from our local favorite. The Cookie Studio bakes an assortment of cookies that are available for pickup or delivery.

Wednesday night, we attended a talk hosted by Cacao Atlanta at Dancing Goats Coffee Bar in Decatur. Caline & Lauren from Cacao provided an in depth discussion on the process by which their fine chocolate is crafted from bean to bar. The ladies brought with them a tasting of Cacao's culinary collaboration with Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters (owners of Dancing Goats), rich dark chocolate topped with Batdorf's Timbales coffee beans -- Heavenly!

Before heading out, I had read on Twitter that Batdorf & Bronson is partnering with Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in creating a signature flavor, Black Coffee ice cream.....  And lucky for us Dancing Goats is selling pints!

I have been meaning to get over to try The Little Tart Bakeshop, in the Cabbagetown/Grant Park area..... They are sharing a space with Octane Coffee -- and what a perfect partnership! We stopped in on Saturday and our cappuccino paired with some of The Little Tart's baked deliciousness has us asking ourselves, why hadn't we been by sooner??? My favorite, the Salted Peanut Butter Cookie with Cocoa Nibs.

Maybe because the day was a little gray and Fall like yesterday, but I felt the need for a visit to The Bakery at Cakes & Ale for what I knew would be an absolutely wonderful brunch. (I know, I can't stop talking about this place!) It has something to do with the portions being the perfect size and the small, ever changing menu, I know everything I try will always be a savory dish! I ordered the Quiche with Bacon, Onion, & Gruyere Cheese paired with perfectly dressed Greens. And because we can't resist their homemade bakery items, we took home a couple of Ginger Snaps, Salt & Pepper Cookies, and Chocolate Chip Cookies.
