Lunch at The Bakery at Cakes & Ale

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

*Somehow, this week's posts have turned into a real foodie journal....  I guess we hit all my favorite spots last week!

I've written previously about my pure pleasure that comes from dining at The Bakery at Cakes & Ale, and our visit on Saturday for lunch was no exception....  The ever changing menu crafted by genius chef David Sweeney always delights! Plus, the design of the space (cafe tables or counter seating at the marble top bar) is so inviting to stop into and enjoy the most delicious fare. Mr. Ferguson and I ordered a couple of cappuccinos and settled on sharing a selection of different dishes from the lunch menu....  The Carrot & Ginger Soup, Quiche of the Day with Potato, Leek, & Bacon, served with a gorgeous side salad, The Roast Beef Sandwich topped with Slaw and served on Grilled Crunchy Bread with side pickle spear, and an order of the Roasted Yukon Wedges, served with a side of sour cream, chives, & golden flaxseed for dipping....  pictures below....
