The Civil Wars // Joy Williams & John Paul White
Well... Nuts! Yesterday, Joy Williams & John Paul White formally announced the breakup of their band, The Civil Wars. What seemed like just getting started is now already finished..... Having only met in 2008 and released their first full-length album in 2011. I first read about the pair on Imogene + Willie's blog post back in January 2012, and at the time the ground swell of excitement was forming around this perfectly matched duo. Watch their video for Poison & Wine attached below..... The music & lyrics resonate beauty and lust and loss, on so many different emotional levels, it can't help but stir you up. Joy & John Paul's connection is undeniable & their moment shared at the end, if that's acting, well go on and give them an Oscar!
Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham
Makes me think of the relationship between Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham, of Fleetwood Mac..... That reunion tour the band did back in 1997, and at the time, videos from the show played on VH1 constantly. Particularly, Silver Springs (watch below)..... Stevie & Lindsey lock eyes and turn towards one another, it's so intense and gives me chills everytime!
