Having grown up in Fairfield County, CT, I have a soft spot in my heart for the classic residential architecture indicative of the area -- cozy vintage Saltbox styles to elegant country estates -- and the decor that infuses the rooms -- primitive pieces to fine antiques. So, I'm absolutely charmed by the 18th century Newtown, CT home of Nora Murphy, writer of the blog Connecticut Country House, and featured in the November issue of Connecticut Cottages & Gardens. Nora recounts how she drove by this period jewel for 10 years before it finally hit the market and became hers. She credits a childhood memory of often visits to a refined and antique filled Southport, CT country home of a woman her mother worked for as an influence on her signature design style.
