Recently, I am finding myself addicted to Hummus... how fitting to find a easy, simple, and fresh recipe in the May 2010 issue of Food and Wine Magazine.
Hummus makes for the perfect appetizer starter.... it can take being set out for guests to enjoy with little need for refrigeration. Serving options include healthy choices like fresh veggies, a selection of olives, or pita slices. Hummus also makes for a wonderful sandwich spread. Food and Wine suggests stirring Hummus into Minestrone Soup, adding it to Deviled Eggs, and tossing into Potato Salad. If in the Atlanta area and under a time crunch to prepare your own, we have the greatest cafe around the corner, Mediterranean Grill, that provides all their Greek fare - Hummus, Baba Ganouj, Tabouli, etc - in to-go containers. {Quick Tip}: Make the pita bread a little more special by cutting into triangle size wedges, drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper, stick under the broiler for a couple a minutes, and enjoy homemade crunchy pita chips.
