Benefit for The Glass House

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Saturday June 11, from 12:00-3:00pm, spend the afternoon strolling the lush landscape and taking in the architecture of Philip Johnson's The Glass House.  The fundraiser is fittingly titled, Dine With Design, bringing together local and regional chefs & artisans, crafting decadent farm to table style food, to be enjoyed on the grounds of this design sanctuary.  The Glass House is located in New Canaan, CT, and the cost is $300 per person.

The Glass House

Philip Johnson (1906-2005) was certainly a forward thinking architect of his day.  His play of scale and form as it relays to the land is found throughout the structures on the 47 acres that comprise his Glass House property.  If in the Connecticut area this summer, I highly suggest getting tickets for a walking tour of the home and grounds.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit 2 summers ago...  the bunker style art gallery and lake pavilion are wonderful!  Click here to read more from my previous post.
