I have been following the renovation & design progress of a new restaurant due to open up in days in downtown Decatur, No. 246. Chef Ford Fry (owner of JCT Kitchen on the Westside) and Chef Drew Belline (formerly of Floataway Cafe) have joined forces to serve up local flavors & ingredients with an Italian inspired menu -- their listed dishes sound mouthwatering! The restaurant will open in a space right off the Decatur Square and Fry & Belline have tapped designer Smith Hanes to completely revision the interiors. Hanes is also responsible for the interior design at JCT Kitchen -- a refined yet stylish eatery, with a design appeal crafted through a muted color palette, soft linen fabrics, with the additional of natural warm wood accents and vintage lighting. No. 246's website had set an opening date of July 12, but their Facebook page has pushed it back to Wednesday, July 13. Fingers crossed, we'll be there by the weekend!
