The world premiere of Amira & Sam is happening tonight at the Seattle International Film Festival.... Writer & director Sean Mullin tells the tale of an unconventional love story between a soldier, just returned from war, and an Iraqi immigrant, faced with the threat of deportation from the US. The unfolding of this relationship dynamic onscreen reveals the personal challenges faced by Sam & Amira and explores the impact of their relationship on the world around them. Cast credits include -- Martin Starr (Freaks & Geeks) as Sam; Dina Shihabi as Amira; and Paul Wesley (Vampire Diaries) as Charlie.
*A crowd sourcing campaign was launched on May 15th in an effort to help cover the expenses of getting Sam & Amira into theaters worldwide.... Having already met their goal prior to the campaign's scheduled end-date, a "stretch" goal has been initiated in continuing the financial funding & support for the film.
