King + Duke

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

We ended up having a last minute dinner at King + Duke on Monday night....   The craziest thing about stopping in at this heart-of-Buckhead location, is the last time I was there it was known as Nava (a wildly successful Southwestern inspired restaurant) and it was 1998!

Chef Ford Fry opened King + Duke just over a year ago, and adds this eatery to his already popular & impressive roster of Atlanta restaurants -- No. 246, JCT Kitchen, The Optimist, and his most recent opening of St. Cecilia. Chef Fry seems to have his finger on the pulse of what diners are craving, with service, food, and decor always hitting high notes! Photos below are from our starters....  Lighting became too dark for good pics when dinner was served, but we enjoyed the Hearth Roasted Chicken, the Bar Steak, and the Bone-In NY Strip....

Delicious Popovers, complimented with a nice salty & creamy butter

Coal Roasted Onion Soup, served with smoked bone marrow

Appetizer special of Burrata with local tomatoes and slice of grilled watermelon
