Although Meet Me In St. Louis (above) isn't entirely a Christmas focused film, there is the exceptional party scene of celebrating the Holidays and following with lead actress Judy Garland singing to her "youngest sister" Margaret O'Brien, the classic Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.....   Which really as it pertains to the film (the Smith family is contemplating a  move from their beloved St. Louis to New York City), is so sad and makes me cry every time.....   Watch below........




In a more contemporary family Christmas film, The Family Stone (released in 2005), with Diane Keaton, the Judy Garland Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas scene & song is used at a point in the film (an exchange between father Craig T. Nelson and daughter Elizabeth Reaser) that again symbolizes a turning point, in this case within the Stone family and hints at a foreshadowing of relationship dynamic changes to come......   Watch more here
