Creators, owners, and designers of The Rug Company, Christopher and Suzanne Sharp, have launched their new Spring collection, with designs inspired from a color palette rooted in teal tones. From their company's beginnings in 1997, Christopher and Suzanne Sharp quickly established themselves as a creative force in contemporary rug design. The win/win decision to invite fashion and interior designers to create new patterns and styles for their company, only further helped elevate their artistry presence on the floors of well appointed rooms everywhere. Fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg lends her design eye in her rug interpretation -- Climbing Leopard (see above #7). The animal theme appears to extend into her Spring fashion and home collecions as well.... check out more below. Click here to read my previous post on Christopher and Suzanne Sharp.

Up & Coming Restaurant News
Tuesday, March 8, 2011
Following yesterday's post, noteworthy restaurant news continues.... Using the opportunity of vacated commercial spaces and landlords's lowering the cost of rents to entice new tenants, chef/owners are expanding into new restaurant ventures. Click here for more from the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Ford Fry and Drew Belline's new Decatur restaurant, No. 246, will be serving upscale Italian dishes, including hand crafted pizzas made in their direct from Naples wood burning oven. They are taking over the space formerly held by Eurasia, located right off the Decatur Square. An opening date is set for early May.
Ron Eyester and Jason Chenette didn't have to look too far for their next space. In the next 4-6 weeks they will be opening The Family Dog, a neighborhood bar serving farm-to-table style pub food. Its location is across the street from Rosebud, their restaurant in the heart of Morningside. They acquired the space vacated by Pomodoro, and foresee the close proximity of the 2 spots to play off each other nicely. A side note.... Rosebud offers a great week-end brunch, the best part being they accept reservations, which is almost unheard of for casual breakfast eateries. Go & try.
Closer to our neck of the woods... What seems to be a hard luck location in our Emory village, is once again getting a new tenant. Sprouts Green Cafe has closed and opening in its place will Bad Dog Taqueria. Owners Tracy Mitchell and Bardo Arroyave are expected to open their doors April 1st. Crafting the menu, that will include a handful of signature tacos, is former executive chef of Osteria 832 (a simple, but very tasty Italian cafe in the VA-Highland neighborhood) Lis Hernandez. Check them out on Facebook.
Keeping a lookout for a possible second location is Decatur's beloved neighborhood restaurant, Watershed. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that The Cheroff Group, Ltd is helping Watershed's owners in their search for a new space in Midtown or Buckhead.

Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Snack
In celebration of Jimmy Fallon's 2nd anniversary of his talk show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Fallon and ice cream makers Ben & Jerry's have teamed up to launch an over the top new ice cream flavor -- Late Night Snack. Satisfying both salty and sweet cravings, this flavor starts with a base of Fair Trade vanilla bean ice cream, combined with a salty caramel swirl, and here is where you just want to lose your mind, fudge covered potato chip clusters are folded in -- WHAT??!! You gotta love Ben & Jerry's ability to push the ice cream flavor combinations over the edge... and of course, love their tongue-in-cheek inspirations for other dreamy and chunky combinations - with a particular affinity for beloved music icons.
